PMAP 8201 - International Development and Assistance NGOs

Description
This course studies relief and development NGOs in poor countries. The course begins with an overview of the state of the world economy and strategies for economic growth. It then turns to such topics as: the role of NGOs in economic development and the formation of social capital, particularly within the context of globalization and democratization; relationships between NGOs, businesses, and national and international public agencies; and the challenges in accountability, advocacy, management and leadership.
