SW 7501 - Social Change, Equity, and Justice 2 Credit Hours Corequisites: SW 7500 Field Education I. Description Social change, equity, and justice are guiding frameworks for social justice work. Together we will explore critical issues and theories that drive social work and the profession’s commitment to social justice, and the importance of equity and justice in social change. Together we will analyze the ways that the lack of equity and justice continues to contribute to the greatest challenges facing individuals, families, communities, organizations, and diverse populations. We will use critical self-reflection to help develop insights and knowledge of civil and human rights, power and privilege, intersectionality, diversity, justice, and liberation. The course will support your ability to advocate for social change and to make meaningful connections with clients across the social and economic spectrum.
