PHPH 8525 - Introduction to Programming in R for Public Health

Prerequisites: PHPH 7017 or equivalent
Description
This course provides an essential introduction to data analysis techniques tailored for public health research, with a strong focus on statistical programming in R. It covers the full data analysis pipeline, including data cleaning, quality assurance, statistical analysis, and effective communication of results. Students will gain proficiency in establishing efficient workflows, generating descriptive statistics, crafting data visualizations using R, and applying confirmatory techniques like regression and hypothesis testing. Throughout the course, students will work with real-world public health datasets.
