The department conducts cutting-edge research on topics such as improving teacher wellness, increasing quality of life for individuals with decreased mobility, promoting positive behavior change regarding activity, and the impact of urban stadiums on surrounding communities. Exercise science program graduates are qualified and trained as health fitness specialists or clinical exercise specialists using the American College of Sports Medicine guidelines.
