The Birth Through Five Certificate program is an online program for professionals who currently work in early care and learning settings and individuals interested in pursuing careers within the diverse professional field of early care and childhood education.  The Birth Through Five Certificate is a 12 month, 100% online graduate certificate designed for prospective post-bachelor degree students who are interested in receiving advanced level educational experiences focused on innovative research and equity based professional learning focused on best practices for the young learner. The program is comprised of 5 courses, each 3 credit hours and serves as a pathway for students who are interested in pursuing a Master’s degree within the Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Specifically, students will be able to use all 15 hours towards the Creative and Innovative Education, M.A. (MACIE) degree program. Students within the Birth Through Five Certificate will have the opportunity to collaborate with and engage in coursework experiences with local, state, national, and international experts who are professionals and leaders in early care and education. Students will also build a professional portfolio that demonstrates evidence of advanced foundational knowledge of key concepts in child development, educational equity, and early childhood education.
