B.S Biology/M.S. Biology Dual Degree Application Requirements
Applicants must be a Biology Major and a 3.5 overall GPA, after having completed at least 29 credit hours at Georgia State University, to apply for the program.
B.S. Biology/M.S. Biology Dual Degree Course Requirements
B.S./M.S. Biology Dual Degree Students can fulfill up to 12 credit hours of undergraduate Area G requirements with matching titles and fulfill up to 12 credit hours of graduate credit by choosing from and successfully completing the following courses with a grade of B or better. Core Degree Requirements:
BIOL 6564 (Advanced Genetics) OR BIOL 6800 (Principles of Cellular Biology) -4 credit hours
BIOL 8710 (Foundations in Molecular Biological Techniques)- 2 credit hours
BIOL 8700 (Biology Graduate Seminar)- 2 credit hours
Elective Degree Requirements:
1 course from the following list:
BIOL 6074 - Developmental Biology (4 credit hours)
BIOL 6100 - Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience (4 credit hours)
BIOL 6240 - Endocrinology (4 credit hours)
BIOL 6278 - Immunology (4 credit hours)
BIOL 6458 - Microbial Ecology & Metabolism (4 credit hours)
BIOL 6580 - Microbial Pathogenesis (4 credit hours)
BIOL 6575 - Virology (4 credit hours)
No more than 12 graduate course credits or four graduate courses taken as an undergraduate student will be used at the undergraduate or graduate level, depending on the program’s requirements.
