The program would consist of 30 credit hours of courses delivered fully online by expert scholars and practitioners who would provide students with theoretical, empirical, and practical skills necessary for success in higher education careers. To complete the degree requirements, students would be required to fulfill the 6-credit master’s core requirement in EPS, a 3-credit hour internship, a 3-credit interdisciplinary elective, and 18 credit hours for the Higher Education Administration major.
This program provides the skills to be successful in careers in higher education administration and is offered fully online:
- Knowledge of the institutional landscape of higher education, governance, and issues faced by colleges and universities, especially institutional types in Georgia such as minority-serving institutions and community colleges.
- Understanding of how colleges and universities shape - and are shaped by - race, gender, and class
- Understanding of social and academic integration and how to design support services based on these principals
- Ability to apply higher education theory and concepts in a real-world setting
