The AI Business Innovation certificate is a 12-credit hour offering that introduces learners to concepts in data programming, machine learning, deep learning, and generative artificial intelligence with buisness applications. The certificate does not have programming or mathematical pre-requisites beyond what is required for admission into Robinson’s MBA program. The certificate is designed to provide enough familiarity with AI-related concepts to permit students to think creatively about innovative applications and solutions to business challenges with data. The certificate includes four courses:
1) IFI 8410 which teaches students Python computer language and packages such as Pandas, Spacy, NLTK among others
2) IFI 8420 that covers both supervised and unsupervised machine learning fundamentals, implementations, and their applications in business
3) MSA 8600 that teaches methods of deep learning such as feedforward neural networks, recurrent neural networks, convolutional neural networks and generative AI methods such as transformers, generative adversarial networks
4) MSA 8700 that teaches students generative atrificial intelligence business applications such as retrieval augmented generation and agentic solutions
The certificate can be taken either stand-alone or students may apply the credits to Robinson’s MBA program or other selected graduate degree programs such as the MS in Data Science and Analytics (Data Science in Business concentration). Further, given that some applicants may have a computer coding background, thus upon approval, students can replace one or two of the four courses.
Certificate Applications and Fees. Applicants will use the same application process as graduate applicants at gradapply.gsu.edu/apply. Proposed tuition and fees will be $15,000 for in-state residents and $25,000 for out-of-state residents.
