This includes but is not limited to the learning how to program in R and/or Python to analyze data; data visualization; data extraction and transformation from the web; massively on-line experiments and surveys; unstructured data (free text) analysis; advanced structured data (tabular) analysis; geographic information system (GIS) methods; and machine-learning. The courses will also offer opportunities for students to develop soft skills such as teamwork, communication and presentation skills, and critical thinking.
